Baby Joshua ~ Newborn photography

This is baby Joshua…or Squashie Joshie as his parents called him.

Most of my recent newborn shoots have been little girls, so it was fun to be able to pull out some blues and greys for this session.
This little guy was sleeping peacefully when I arrived, but soon wanted in on the action and no matter what tricks I tried, or how long we “shoosh’d” him, he just would not sleep.
I had to flip the shoot on it’s head and think outside the box a little (it’s good to be challenged) and I did all the family shots first, hoping he would sleep…he didn’t. Josh’s parents fed him (twice), hoping he would sleep…he didn’t. We played the waiting game, hoping he would sleep…he didn’t.

Literally a few hours later, a good cup of coffee (for the adults), this little guy fell into a light sleep which meant I couldn’t move him the way I normally do, but hey, he was sleeping and that is what counted and I shot as quickly as I could.

So in all, I managed some lovely images of this 11 day old baby and here are some of them.
